We have started a Circle Synth User Group on SoundCloud. If you are a SoundCloud user then we would love to hear the music you have created using Circle. It also provides a great way for different Circle users to discuss sound design, using the time line comments feature to highlight different aspects of the music.
If you are not a SoundCloud user, then check it out here.
We also have an idea on how to promote Circle and your music.
Previously we did some promotion of Circle on the music technology blog CreateDigitalMusic and used the SoundCloud Player as the advert that appeared.
As you can see from above, visitors who clicked play could listen to music created using Circle.
We also use the SoundCloud player for the audio demos featured on this site. In the future we would also like to open this up to more artists. So if you would like your music to be included in future promotions or as an audio demo on this site, just upload your tracks to the Circle Synth User Group on SoundCloud and let us know that you are interested via the group message board.
We have opened a thread on the forum listing issues with Circle and Windows 7.
Currently the main one is that users are having issues activating Circle. We have posted a work around for the moment, until we release a version with a permanent fix.
We are currently experiencing a problem with our web store, where payments are not being processed for any purchases made by non EU residents. We are working on remedying the problem at the moment. In the mean time, if you hold a Paypal account we can still process your order, simply send a mail to store@futureaudioworkshop.com and we will get back with details.
We are working with Soundcloud on the creation of an embedded player that you can add to your site, facebook page etc. Here is the current version, displayed for test.
We have been going through the support requests and some cases were open for extended periods. We have resolved any cases that we were waiting for feedback on longer than two weeks. If your case is not resolved and you still require support, please re-open the case as per instructions in the original email sent from our support system
Snow Leopard is now shipping and we are getting in reports of issues. The current status of Circle and Snow Leopard is that we do not officially support it at this point. If you have upgraded and are encountering issues please contact us through support@futureaudioworkshop.com
During this transition phase, we recommend staying tuned to Create Digital Musicwhere they are maintaining a list of compatible hardware. Also subscribe to our blog using the RSS link in the address bar above to be in loop of Circle & Snow Leopard.
The July issue of one of music technologies most respected magazines, Sound On Sound, is now out and contains a great in depth review of Circle by Nick Magnus.
We are delighted with review as Nick highlights and understands all the keys points of what we are trying to achieve with Circle.
He states in the round up:
“Circle is a versatile soft synth with an innovative, flexible and visual approach to designing sounds. Its potential for creating classic analog synth sounds, hard edged digital weirdness, ambient textures and other worldly effects, makes it suitable for all forms of electronic music. Newbie synthesists should find it very educational, while the more experienced will find plenty to get their teeth into.”
