wierd filter response?

    yo,

im using the velocity of incoming midi notes to play the cut off of the filter, and each note value causes the cut off value to step up or down in frequency.

but it appears to be bending/gliding slightly between cut off values at each value change (like a tiny filter 'portamento')

i programmed no such curve to the filters but it almost seems like its trying to 'smooth' between values, and is completely bad news for me - cos im trying to use a monophonic synth patch with real blocky responses, and the cut off should respond immediately to the value changes.....

anyone see the same results? or GavinFAW? u know whats wrong here?

    cheers.

  2. Hi Arebee,

The first thing is to check if the "Glide" knob for the associated keyboard follow, located in the right section of the keyboard pane on the bottom panel is set to 0 follow. You should not be getting any special smoothing because the velocity is just like any other modulation source. Does it improve if you sent a low modulation amount on the connection or is it present regardless of the amount?

hya gavin, glide: there is no "0" only "1.000" on both keyboard glide......

my concern is that if im 'patching' the VEL and also KEYB1 to FREQUENCY1, when i play say a melody, (logic 8.0.2./ circle AU), the filter responds with a slight glide in values when any notes overlap, im after a very monophonic result here, so overlapping midi should result in monophonic switches in both notes an frequency.

its most noticable with a patch thats using only VEL>FREQ on a monosynth, with fairly high RES.

    ill email an mp3

hey - nobody home? sorry for pestering y'all,

investigating the glide times has uncovered a strange thing with the values:

no glide shows a val of 1.000, full glide shows a val of 0.000, to me this seems to be reverse?
