    Hello,

    I had some trouble finding information about this here in the forums...

    I run Circle on Windows XP. I'm attempting to use a Monome to interact with Circle via OSC. The Monome is equipped with an accelerometer and I figured out how to assign its tilt function with the OSC address of various functions. It's also very easy to use Circle with the Monome via MidiYoke.

    HOWEVER. I noticed that the OS X version of Circle only requires the port number to connect. 5123 is always the port. With Windows XP though... it asks me for an OSC IP address and an OSC out port number. I've tried various numbers and ip's and can't seem to connect to actually control the tilt functions of the Monome!

    Hope this makes sense to someone out there. I really appreciate the help. I've also looked through Circle's supplied documentation and it seems to contain only an explanation for how to use this function with OS X. Help!!

  2. also interested in this question

    are you using monomeserial?

    the ip number is probably localhost, or the 127,0,0,1 ip

    search for "circle" on http://post.monome.org . that's what I'm going to do next.

    there is a video by Stretta at http://www.vimeo.com/1968639

    using polygome as an example. it's done on mac, but the circle setup should work.
    just got mine ordered today, off to play.

    @rawore

    the gs128 is absolutely incredible! congrats on your order!

    yes using monomeserial. i tried using my ip and the 127.0.0.1 from monomeserial as well. neither worked.

    the question i asked was also asked by someone in the monome forums some time ago and was never answered. i've also watched the monome+faw polygome video from Stretta quite a few times. he just clicks "connect" and everything works perfectly! but like i said... with the mac... no ip or osc out port is needed.

    so the Circle setup works, as I can hear the sound fine. I just can't seem to get the OSC connect function to work. i'm seriously hoping for an FAW Tech to answer this one...

    let me know what you find though. thanks!

  4. put a query up on the monome forum
    http://post.monome.org/comments.php?DiscussionID=8572&page=1#Item_1
    ------------------------------------------

    running on windows vista sp2

    using monomeserial 2.1.2a polygome 0.98 (256)
    (midi connection via midi yoke)

    set up with two gs128 running as 256

    trying the circle standalone, hope to use osc as in demo video

    I can see the port that circle uses for in (5123) listening (using netstat). the
    circle doc says the program acts a server. (though it implies mac only).

    how does polygome see the circle osc? is the gome in the video modified?
    is there some way to link the two osc servers?
