  1. I am currently creating a MAX application that will integrate Circle with various TouchOSC parameters. Everything seems to work well. My question is... What scale do i use for the controls... For Example I take a osc input between o and 1. I am scaling it on the /SingleFilter1/Freq from 1 to 127. This scale is definitely not correct as it jumps from one extreme to the other. Is there a way to figure out the scale or is it a standard scale for all controls?

  4. No problem... I am creating a simple interface for TouchOSC that will allow people to select the Parameter they want to control very easily with dropdowns and save the parameters for future use. I will probably add some other functionality as it comes along. Just the basics for now. I will make it available for everyone when it is done. It will probably be a few more days.

  5. Yeah, TouchOSC has fixed addresses, but this is going to change in the future. I'm using Osculator ( http://www.osculator.net/wiki/ ) for the moment.

  6. I use Osculator too. I am really not making this for me, but for the people who do not understand OSC and networking. I also would rather provide something to people that they do not need to pay for. I strongly believe the connection to Circle should be simple, since I really believe in Circle and it's simplicity of it's interface. It would only be fitting that an interface to the iphone and maybe other OSC devices be just as simple. I am planning on providing people with drop downs that will show only the options they want to control like, "Filter 1 Frequency" and not even show them an OSC path that may confuse them. This way they don't need to understand the underlying communications and just can play music. :-) I plan to eventually expand with other features that can be used to enhance Circle with hardware. Think Monome, and other hardware interfaces. I will definitely provide all of the info and software to this group.

  7. Yes Mike, sounds great. OSC has lots of strong points, but the main let down is the setup. As you rightly point out, the last thing an iphone user wants to be doing is getting involved in software configuration.

  8. Okay... Here is my first beta of the Simple CircleOSC app. There are a few limitations that i am working on. The first major one is saving your presets after selecting the parameters you want to use. That will be fixed in the next version. I will also be adding step sequencer support in the next version along with the touchpad. For now, this app is used with the touchosc application on the iPhone and allows you to easily use Circle with TouchOSC (without knowing anything about OSC). Load the Simple CircleOSC application before you run Circle and leave it running. Select the parameters you want the controllers to modify and that should be it.

    Config:

In Circle: go to Control-> OSC port and set it to 5123

    in Touch OSC:

Host: set to your computers IP address
    Port(outgoing): set to 8000

    Performance:

    Stay Connected: should be on

Under Layouts, make sure you select simple.

    Click, "Done"

You should be set. Have fun and feel free to comment and add suggestions.

  11. I added basic saving and restoring of settings. The next release will automatically save your previous state. I thought i had it working this release. I created the app and it didn't work the same. oh well... Next revision. For this release, I recommend creating a directory of presets and just saving and restoring from that directory. Future revisions will be much more elegant. Look for a lot more to come!

    Same location as before

    no Windows release yet.
