    just a few:

    10) Show all patched modulations targets of a specific modulator when I click on it
Now when I click on a modulator all the availables targets are highlited, I would like to see what is already patched to this modulator

    11) Ability to edit cutoff AND resonance by dragging the filter's graphic (horizontal Freq, vertical resonance)

    12) Master volume knob return a value when you move it like any other parameter

  3. Thanks Oliver, I'll add these in the list...
Just on your number 10, in version 1.0.3, when you click on a modulation connection at the destination, the source is highlighted. I have left in your feature request as it would be nice to have all the destinations a modulation is connected to highlighted as well.

    14) ability to edit several modulations amount at the same time

If I want to modulate the pitch by an LFO, I have to connect the LFO to all the oscillators then set the amount of modulation.
So you have to go each oscillator to set this amount, be caerfull to set the same value, then if you want to change this value you have to redo this for all :(

As a workaround I let the default value then use the "level" of LFO module, but this is not very flexible if I want to use this LFO for another destination beside oscillators

Maybe we could open several modulation amount faders by shift+click then edit one, the others wil follow.

    hi,

what about an audio sidechain or ability to use Circle as an MidiFX plugin?

I don't know what would be the best way, maybe an oscilator module could handle "audio in" when this audio signal will be the plugin 's sidechain.

Logic's Ultrabeat works this way and it is very flexible IMO because you still can use it as a synth while passing any audio thru the lovely filters and so on.

After OSC support this would my 2nd most important wish.

  7. Hi Olivier,

Audio In is definitely on the cards and something that we had on our own list from the start.
It would be a separate plug-in and be available as an insert effect on an audio channel.
We were thinking about having the feedback module replaced with audio in, and having an internal envelope follower which has a modulation output circle.

Any chance of true free running oscillators?

Currently the oscillators seem to only work when you press a note. Then they continue from where they were on the next note (in terms of phase). This even seems to be true if there are spaces between notes.

    Hi Gavin,

Good to know you planned audio in :-)

by "We were thinking about having the feedback module replaced with audio in, and having an internal envelope follower which has a modulation output circle.", do you mean for the audio FX version or for the instrument FX ?

    Just to be clear:
there are 3 kind of plugin (AU, VST maybe):
    audio FX
    instrument FX
midi audio FX (audio FX with midi support)

I think it could be very usefull to have both versions because this way you don't have to make compromises.
-audio FX for Hosts applications without midiFX support or for simple filter/FX uses
    - instrument FX when you want to play a synth but with some external audio addition

and last but not least, if one day Circle offers a vocoder module, we will need a sidechain or midi audio FX.

  11. 19) chord mode for arpeggiator
    20) swing for sequencer!
    21) maybe a "note sequencer"?

  12. Hi Subsky,

All very relevant, I have added them to the list!

    Good suggestions Subsky!

It would be good if the chord mode on the arp could be used as a 'chord memory' like on the Roland Alpha Junos (so you can transpose a chord across the keyboard by playing with one key).

i tested the demo and think it have real much potential.

needed functions are before i will buy it:

    - more lfos/env/step
    - more fx possibilities i need 4 or 6 fx sections
    - possibility to choose input of midi in the standalone section (that it will works with creative asio)
    - stepsequencer with more than 16 steps up to 128 or 64 will also be okay
    - delay inside the envelope
    - use synthesizer as fx plugin (FX compatible)
    - Polyaftertouch
    - Channel Aftertouch
    - a second scene to have all parameters double and use then together/alone/or split option
    - in the envelope a hold option after attack (DAHDSR) also in the lfo section
    - filter fader between Filter 1 and 2
    - notch filter
    - lfo selection between unipolar and biopolar (only up or op and down)
    - lfo mix fader to set up the exact effect that i want (for example 50% Volume of gating)
    - some send and return effect options
    - wide effect
    - possibility to save envelopes and sequences
    - pitch up to 96 oct

Cool would be also but not so important:
    - new fx like, maximizer, limiter, additional eq, disortion, delay with many steps, gain +/- 48db, frequency shifter
    - portamento, tremolo

    i forget,

need more rate for stepsequencer and lfos

this may have been mentioned before, but a modifier key for fine adjustments on parameters would be spectacular (lfo rate, for instance).

side note possible bug report: bpm sync inside of logic 8 pro seems to be off by some scalar for both lfo and sequencer modules.

fantastic software, i've really enjoyed using it.

midi cc depth (min/max) on parameters (for example VCA depth of 0.5 - 1.0)

    Posted 3 years ago #
  18. Hi Openloop,

You can do this already, if you assign a midi cc using the "midi learn" button on the top panel and then open the bottom controller pane by pressing "control" in the bottom panel menu you will see an entry for this assignment with two sliders that allow you to set the min and max values of the assignment. Page 80 to 81 of Circle - A complete reference guide explain the process. Let me know here if you need any further help or info.

How about a Sample and Hold module, takes audio and control signals and outputs control signals for modulation.

    Very nice

    Posted 3 years ago #
  21. Hi Bob,

That would be something related to using Circle as a insert effect on an audio track? What we are planning is for the feedback module to be replaced by the audio in from the host, with its modulation output circle usable as a modulation source. The modulation output could have a built in sample and hold and smoothable envelope follower. Think having the audio input changing rates of lfos attached to the filter could sound interesting.

    Hi Gavin,
I would like to be able to maximise the Circle synth Editor Window across a full page.
At the moment the Editor Window is a bit small (only fills say 60% of the Screen) when using Circle through my Macbook's Screen
    Many thanks

+1 for what nicknack proposes. It's a bit frustrating to have to scroll up and down within Circle, while Circle only occupies 60% of my screen (24").

    some more:
    - Next and previous button besides the patch title in the screen header
    - A function to generate alternative or random patches

    - already mentioned earlier:
    10) Show all patched modulations targets of a specific modulator when I click on it
Now when I click on a modulator all the availables targets are highlited, I would like to see what is already patched to this modulator

    ....maybe you could do this:
    normal click: available highlighted
ctrl or alt click: see what is already patched to modulator

    - when moving over targeted modulator the source is being 'highlighted', personally I would like to see that more clearly, maybe by inventing color (for example white background in stead of standard black.

    I have a request:
    - use envelope modulation to go completely from one wavetable to another.

Currently, when I apply an envelope modulator to a wavetable oscillator, it goes from 0->1, so it starts from a 50/50% mix and fades to one of the wavetables. I want to start from a 100% mix of one of the wavetables and fade to a 100% mix of the other.

Not sure the best way to support this, but here's an idea:
It seems counter-intuitive that the wavetable mix I set for a wavetable oscillator is ignored when I modulate it. What if when I've mixed it completely to the bottom wavetable and then apply an envelope modulation, it would start from where I've mixed it and fade towards 50/50%. In other words, if the mix is currently set at -1, the envelope would go from -1->0. Then if I want to fade all the way up to the top wavetable, I could apply that envelope as a modulation twice (that would double the effect, right?) to go from -1 -> 1. Or perhaps the modulation amount could support a range of -2 to 2 instead of -1 to 1.

PS - another +1 for nicknack's request to make the UI window larger so there is no need to scroll when I have a big enough screen to display everything.

    Hi, one more:
Please consider adding channel aftertouch as a modulation source. I think it would work great as another circle down at the bottom next to keyb 1/2 & velocity. I recently upgraded my keyboard controller and was sad to discover none of my soft synths support aftertouch. I think aftertouch support would fit in perfectly with Circle's easy-to-use modulation system and allow for more expressiveness when making music with this synth.

    Hi,
Allowing LFO-controlled envelope nodes via the infamous Circle drag-and-snap method would be super helpful.

    Thanks

  30. I would like to see a invert color option. I love the UI but a nice clean white and greyscale version might be a nice option.
