We have had a number of support cases for users having problems activating Circle on Windows 7. Here is a work around for the moment.
1) Delete the Circle install folder on your hard disk if you have tried to install already
2) Disable your internet connection.
3) Follow the activate offline process. Make sure that your internet connection is still disabled when noting the green offline activation code
Here is a description of the process:

It is ok to activate your internet connection to go online to generate the circle.kfp, just make sure that when ever you launch Circle it is disabled.
4) When the circle.kfp file is generated via the website, copy it into the Circle install folder manually, placing it in /FAW/Circle
5) Then relaunch Circle, with your internet connection still disabled.
Circle should now activate ok. Please contact support@futureaudioworkshop.com if you need any further assistence.
Wanted to report absolutely no activation issues on Windows 7 Professional. Followed the online procedure opening in stand-alone mode. This was for version 1.07. Please advise if you would like more info.
After activating Circle on Windows 7, a big problem remains : the "Program Files" folder is locked in Windows 7, so that no sound can be edited and saved. I tried to change folder properties under Windows 7 but it still doesn't work. Any idea ?
My system: Windows 7, 64 bit, home premium
I alway have to disable internet connection, to not get into demo mode.
I want to have internet connection while I'm working with circle.
Please fix that.

six months and still no open sound control on windows?
not even an answer when users post!
I have replied to Tweiss through support.
We are still having issues with open sound control on the pc. We don't have an estimated time for a fix, but it is definitely something we want to have work and would have working if it was possible at the moment.
Gavin.
Yes I had this problem on a recent upgrade of my OS from Windows XP to Windows 7 this effective clean install was problematic, not only with 'Circle' but a few other's Cakewalk, NI and Camel Audio.
However, the above off line activation did work.
Found later that a Vst folder held inside Programes directory, is not a good idea, so shifted everything over to a new folder on C: instead. this is all to do with Windows 7's administrator authority and or posession of files rules.
i.e for those interestead C: Stienberg/Vst/Synths & Samplers. Not C: Programes/Stienberg/Vst/Synth & Samplers.
I've cracked it with that simple update of my own, now everything is cool, wether this would help in the concern of activiaton, I don't know, but it's worth a try and I feel better about my set up now anyway.
You might be able to shed light on this Gavin.
Hey. odd that microsoft take the stance that you as a user, need to apply strict user control from the start, rather than make moves to set it up instead if you feel it's a concern.
For Windows 7 users, it might be worth disabling User Account Control.
- Go to Start > Control Panel.
- Open the "User Accounts" control panel (if you don't see it, make sure "View By: Large Icons" is selected In the upper-right hand corner, rather than Category).
- Select "Change User Account Control Setting"
- Set the slider to "Never Notify"
- Restart the computer.
Not sure if this will help or not as I don't run Circle under Windows, but I've seen many apps that have similar UAC issues.
Yep
That's another link in the chain,

@Edisonthe,
Yes, but just make sure you note the green activate off-line code while your internet connection is off, in other words, launch circle with the internet disabled, note the green offline code then shut down circle and go through the off line process.
