This is the thread for everything related to Circle and Lion compatibility

So far we are seeing that Circle is not being recognized by Logic Studio, failing the Audio Unit validation test under Lion.

Ableton Live 8.2.1 is not displaying the VST version of Circle in its plugin menu... AU works fine but VST isn't showing up properly... Any clues as to what's going on or possible fixes/workarounds?

Thought it would be a good idea for the FAW community to post links to their music in this thread. I'll start out...

My music on Twisted Sessions:
http://www.twistedsessions.com/Jordan_Stoner/audio.php

My music is available for free to all, as stated under the Free Art License.
The Free Art License

Unfortunately, Circle is not featured in any of my songs thus far, due to a bug with Pro Tools/Core 2 Duo Macs. Gavin's working on it, though - hopefully I'll be able to add it to my arsenal soon!

Yule Greetings from a Circle demo user *_*

QUESTION - How to disable/turn off the LFO & Envelope animations on the Circle GUI?
I figure these consume a certain amount of valuable CPU cycles.

SUGGESTION - To show the item active state, simply highlighting the graphic and/or with a light is sufficient.

Thanks,

Hello all,

Like many of you, I have owned Circle for two years now and have never been able to fully use the software.

I would like to start this thread to make it extremely visible to Gavin and anyone else involved with FutureAudioWorkshop that we, as paying customers, do not feel like we've been given our money's worth with this product.

Please respond to this post with a list of the issues that you have with both the software and the company. Let's try to work together as a community to get FAW back on track and supporting their product as we have asked.

Circle Complaints:
- RTAS performance is unusable.
- VST performance is unusable.
- Buffer errors and clicks-and-pops make the software unusable in any DAW environment.
- MIDI in Stand-alone mode is broken.
- OSC implementation is broken.

FAW Complaints:
- The lack of support and updates is shameful.
- The resolutions presented are not fixes, but work-arounds that do not solve the issue.
- There have been no updates to the roadmap since its inception 2 years ago.
- There is no apparent development or news regarding Circle, and no news of its End Of Life either.
- Customers often do not receive answers to questions posted here.
- There is no channel for complaints and escalations, as Gavin is apparently the sole individual at FAW.
- The forum is overlooked often, and for extremely long periods of time.
- Promises made to keep the community informed of development cycles and bug fixes in the pipeline have been repeatedly broken.
- Communication to the FAW community is sporadic and non-informational, at best.

Please add any other complaints or issues that you have.

Let's try to make this a constructive dialog / petition.

Price is down, very nice to see, so all the people payed 160 or above can feel happy now after 2 or more Years without any update/bugfixing info. Now seeing their nobel synth in a lolish price dump situation. That a new update lowers the price to only a third of the regular price. Thought more time investment and bugfixes/upgrades would keep the price constant. But such a lowering. I really don't think that buying circle was an investment anymore. It tastes like a joke. The standalone version (1.0.8) still has the midi problem and is still horrible cpu hungry. So, what did i pay for, and what are new customers paying for ? More communication in future times ? Better bugfixing ? Less of it all cause they only payed a third of the price ?
Maybe i get myself an IDevice seems like the support of IOS Apps is much greater.

http://createdigitalmusic.com/2011/11/a-new-plug-in-format-really-avid-answers-our-questions-about-aax-and-pro-tools/

AAX will eventually replace RTAS and TDM plug-in formats in Pro Tools. If Circle development continues for this platform, then effort should be directed toward developing an AAX version. From what I understand, the SDK is free, and the actual development cycle is much faster than RTAS in most cases.

Not only does the development of an AAX version mean that it's easy to offer both DSP and Native versions, the SDK has an expanded feature-set that should entice all developers to investigate this format. Also, a DSP version of Circle would be extremely beneficial, as it's a very CPU intensive plug-in.

Hi,
I bought Circle 3 weeks ago. It's great!
Actually it is installed on my PC (AMD Sempron 2 GHz, 2GB of ram and Windows XP Pro SP2): it's works fine but my cpu works a lot.
Probably I'll change PC with the following configuration:
- AMD Phenom X4 (3.2GHz)
- At least 8 GB of ram
- Windows 7 (64 bit version)

So now that's my questions:
1) Circle works on Windows 7 64 bit architecture?
2) I just used my activation-code on my current system. What I have to do to manage my licence from my current PC to the newer one?

Thanks

Hello,
I recently purchased Circle, and began this evening on a quest to write a song with Circle.

I can instantiate any of my other plugins and not have an issue -- but the moment I bring up Circle, Pro Tools complains about losing connection to the Audio Hardware (says I may need to change the buffer settings and increase), and causing it to reset. Right before that happens the audio will degrade to static and/or digital artifacts. This will repeat ad nauseam.

I can remove Circle, and add say, well, really any other Synth plugin and away I go.

Id be willing to send more information, if I knew what exactly you needed to get to the problem...

Hi all thought I would slap a confident cheery message up on the forum.

After some pretty difficult reading of the posts here and there, some for the reasons mentioned like lack of support or technical stuff with Circle.

I thought I would ask wether were happy or not that stuff's still moving forward with 'Circle' I'm personally very happy, that were getting an update soon, and essentially after a bit of interorgation, that Gavin's not given up on his vision for FAW.

Were a small collective of user's of the forum and no doubt we could all do with a few more members to contribute.

But I want to offer a happy Hello, to everyone here, not turn our obvious skills, into a dark day.

The clouds have parted, the sky looks bright and the outlook good, so here's to a Beta future and you lot in it.

Regards.

I think this could be awesome:

I'd love to have the ability to tempo sync each phase of an envelope to the host tempo. For example, let's say I'm creating a filter sweep rise and I want it to last two bars, instead of guessing how long the attack should be and tweeking it until it feels good, I could simply tell Circle to make the envelope last for two bars. I hit my MIDI note on beat one of bar one and it syncs perfectly. I think I would want the ability to sync from 1/256th note or somewhere in that range all the way up to 8 or more bars. I would want the ability to tempo sync the decay, the sustain and the release as well, all independent of each other.

This would be an amazing feature, and I would LOVE to see this in a future update to Circle.

Thanks,

Just have a feat. request, I know it's a long shot but I think it would make Circle even that much better. And I haven't seen any other Synths with this feature.

Feat. Request:

The ability to export to a text file, the setttings for ever parameter in a patch. Broken down into sections:

So if I had a preset loaded, it would export like this:

Oscillator 1: 3.4
Oscillator 2: 2.4

With the ability to export either, every setting, or every setting that has been tweaked from the default setting.

Would be amazing.
