Hi Actuel

We are focused on keeping circle compatible with DAW's and operating systems for now, but your suggestions will be noted.

thanks for you thoughts.

I still would love to have the ability to have skins or a 'light' version. Additionally, being able to scale and/or go full screen would be amazing. Sometimes I just feel claustrophobic in Circle and want to stretch that default size out a bit.

Proud owner for 3 years now. Circle is easily my favorite plugin. Also, loving the little treats you guys have pushed out lately. Cheers!

Hi Astrin,

You have to keep things in perspective, we are having problems on certain systems with certain configurations, but this is a small fraction of the people who use Circle. If you listen to David Guetta's Sexy Girl which was a hit around Europe/US, you will hear Circle on synth duties. Thats not to say that we won't keep working on Circle to make it work great for everyone, but it is a professional product that is used on hit records!

Gavin.

Here's a Feature Request for new users -- dropping the price to something more realistic. I went through the forum posts and you admitted that you left everyone hanging for quite some time. Circle looks real nice but from the posts it is still a work in progress -- you can't have "clicks" and such in a $200 product !

Will probably get banned or flamed for this. Sorry guys -- had to say it.

Hi KillaNurtz

You can actually do this already, if you create a waveform and import it into the wavetable oscillator and set the oscillator to "sub" it will give you the same behavior as a custom lfo.

Hi, one more:
Please consider adding channel aftertouch as a modulation source. I think it would work great as another circle down at the bottom next to keyb 1/2 & velocity. I recently upgraded my keyboard controller and was sad to discover none of my soft synths support aftertouch. I think aftertouch support would fit in perfectly with Circle's easy-to-use modulation system and allow for more expressiveness when making music with this synth.

I have a request:
- use envelope modulation to go completely from one wavetable to another.

Currently, when I apply an envelope modulator to a wavetable oscillator, it goes from 0->1, so it starts from a 50/50% mix and fades to one of the wavetables. I want to start from a 100% mix of one of the wavetables and fade to a 100% mix of the other.

Not sure the best way to support this, but here's an idea:
It seems counter-intuitive that the wavetable mix I set for a wavetable oscillator is ignored when I modulate it. What if when I've mixed it completely to the bottom wavetable and then apply an envelope modulation, it would start from where I've mixed it and fade towards 50/50%. In other words, if the mix is currently set at -1, the envelope would go from -1->0. Then if I want to fade all the way up to the top wavetable, I could apply that envelope as a modulation twice (that would double the effect, right?) to go from -1 -> 1. Or perhaps the modulation amount could support a range of -2 to 2 instead of -1 to 1.

PS - another +1 for nicknack's request to make the UI window larger so there is no need to scroll when I have a big enough screen to display everything.

some more:
- Next and previous button besides the patch title in the screen header
- A function to generate alternative or random patches

- already mentioned earlier:
10) Show all patched modulations targets of a specific modulator when I click on it
Now when I click on a modulator all the availables targets are highlited, I would like to see what is already patched to this modulator

....maybe you could do this:
normal click: available highlighted
ctrl or alt click: see what is already patched to modulator

- when moving over targeted modulator the source is being 'highlighted', personally I would like to see that more clearly, maybe by inventing color (for example white background in stead of standard black.

Hi Bob,

That would be something related to using Circle as a insert effect on an audio track? What we are planning is for the feedback module to be replaced by the audio in from the host, with its modulation output circle usable as a modulation source. The modulation output could have a built in sample and hold and smoothable envelope follower. Think having the audio input changing rates of lfos attached to the filter could sound interesting.

Gavin.

i tested the demo and think it have real much potential.

needed functions are before i will buy it:

- more lfos/env/step
- more fx possibilities i need 4 or 6 fx sections
- possibility to choose input of midi in the standalone section (that it will works with creative asio)
- stepsequencer with more than 16 steps up to 128 or 64 will also be okay
- delay inside the envelope
- use synthesizer as fx plugin (FX compatible)
- Polyaftertouch
- Channel Aftertouch
- a second scene to have all parameters double and use then together/alone/or split option
- in the envelope a hold option after attack (DAHDSR) also in the lfo section
- filter fader between Filter 1 and 2
- notch filter
- lfo selection between unipolar and biopolar (only up or op and down)
- lfo mix fader to set up the exact effect that i want (for example 50% Volume of gating)
- some send and return effect options
- wide effect
- possibility to save envelopes and sequences
- pitch up to 96 oct

Cool would be also but not so important:
- new fx like, maximizer, limiter, additional eq, disortion, delay with many steps, gain +/- 48db, frequency shifter
- portamento, tremolo

by "We were thinking about having the feedback module replaced with audio in, and having an internal envelope follower which has a modulation output circle.", do you mean for the audio FX version or for the instrument FX ?

Just to be clear:
there are 3 kind of plugin (AU, VST maybe):
audio FX
instrument FX
midi audio FX (audio FX with midi support)

I think it could be very usefull to have both versions because this way you don't have to make compromises.
-audio FX for Hosts applications without midiFX support or for simple filter/FX uses
- instrument FX when you want to play a synth but with some external audio addition

and last but not least, if one day Circle offers a vocoder module, we will need a sidechain or midi audio FX.

Olivier
